Las Margaritas Foundation carried out a book donation event in which we delivered over 200 books to some of the neediest children in the area.

Over the years Las Margaritas Foundation has donated many books to the community.  We donated approximately one thousand books to the main library in San Cristobal.

Horticultural Workshop 2014

The Margaritas Foundation donated over 200 fruit trees to the community.  Local middle school students participated in a horticulture workshop facilitated by Doña Yolanda.  The students learned about the different plants varieties, their health benefits, as well as how to care for them.

Back to School Drive 2014

This year through our outreach program we have identified a group of students in the community who are in great need of a new backpack and school supplies to start the school year.  These students were chosen for their strong academics and good citizenship as well as their financial need.

Realizing that education must be at the center of any outreach program, Fundación Las Margaritas has strived to improve the literacy skills of the children of San Cristobal through book donations both to the local library as well as directly to the children themselves and by providing school supplies to students in two local schools. Yet, the focus of our work has been to empower the youth to take care of their own community. This objective has been one of the goals our summer camp. In each camp session we have helped the students to lead big community events.  The first they led an effort to plant trees both on their school grounds as well as in the yards of local families. On a different occasion, they organized a project to clean up the streets that surrounded their school.
