Summer Camp 2016 was a resounding success. We expanded to four classrooms and increased our enrollment to over 90 campers. The new classroom was led by Ashley, a graduated teen leader.
The focus of the camp this summer was on renewable energy. We were able to procure miniature solar panels that the campers used to power small fans and mini-cars that they built.
This year we brought down 11 teenagers from the US to work with 14 Dominican teenagers as the teen leaders of the camp. Their service learning project was to load up over 100 backpacks with school supplies and deliver them to local schoolchildren.
